Tour outline description
This England self guided tour and travel guide consists of 7 days of sightseeing
some of the finest parts of England. The trip advisor itinerary mixes history,
heritage with simply wonderful places. The ‘must see’ places are
intermingled with some England travel experiences that can be had nowhere else.
Our trip advisor itineraries show you palaces and castles, quiet rugged scenery
and Roman history along with just seeing Britain at her best. This tour will
cover something for everyone. Perhaps combine this tour with a few days in London
and you will have had a very memorable stay in Britain that will be remembered
forever. This tour is easily extendable.
The brief trip advisor preview itinerary
Day 1
Your England travel starts with Britishtourplans by travelling north west as
we make our way to Blenheim Palace, built in 1704 for the First Duke of Marlborough
and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and one of England’s finest Stately
Homes. Then back to Oxford to see the magnificent ‘Dreaming Spires’
and much more. Free time to explore with suggestions of what to see.
Day 2
We head north to travel through part of the beautiful Cotswolds as we make our
way to Stratford upon Avon, renowned as the birthplace of the famous English
playwright William Shakespeare. Lots of free time to explore and see all the
shakespearean sights and after the leisurely sightseeing, an option is perhaps
a visit to the Swan Theatre to see a Shakespeare play.
Day 3
Only a short drive today to see one of the most memorable sights on any England
tour, Warwick with its magnificent medieval castle.
Day 4
North again today and to the 2000-year-old Roman city of Chester, perhaps taking
in the wonderful English Wedgewood Centre on the way. This still leaves plenty
of free time to explore a most beautiful English city.
Day 5
A lot to see today and an early start is needed. We tour north today into English
Lakeland by the shortest route to give us as much time as possible for sightseeing
and to soak up the scenery and splendour of England’s Lake District. To
the Victorian resort of Windermere and see Great Britain’s most famous
National Park, travelling through Ambleside to Rydal and Grassmere, the area
that so inspired William Wordsworth, we build in some free time to explore.
Then across the Yorkshire Moors through charming villages and ending the day
in York with its glorious minster and medieval town. Suggestions on what to

Day 6
South today, to the University city of Cambridge with lots of free time to relax
and explore this famous and facinating city. Suggestions on what to see in Cambridge.
Day 7
To Windsor today, with its world famous Castle, one of the finest castles in
England and still used today by Her Majesty and have free time to explore with
suggestions of what to see.
